Richlands East State School wanted a playground that was more than just fun — they wanted a purposeful environment where students of all ages could grow, connect, and learn.
We partnered with the school to design a bold, multi-sensory space that merges active play with cultural storytelling and social connection. Every design choice — from the play equipment to the seating — was guided by the school’s mission to honour its heritage, support learning, and promote inclusion.

Agito Tano Multi-Play Structure
A dynamic multi-play structure that promotes motor-skill development, teamwork, and problem-solving through interactive climbing and play.
Custom Jack & Jill Timber Seating
Designed for flexibility — ideal for supervision, storytelling, or quiet connection among students and staff.
Hand-Carved Eagle Totem
A tribute to the school Eagle mascot, symbolising strength, identity, and pride.
Cultural Connection Panels
Perforated panels inspired by Indigenous artwork in the school hall create continuity between indoor and outdoor learning.
Dedicated Storytelling Circle
A seating space for listening to stories and taking a sensory break in a comfortable setting.
Sensory Play Elements
Includes lily pad runs, stepping pods, balance beams, and a sandpit — encouraging sensory exploration and motor development.
Misting Posts
Provide a refreshing way to keep students cool during warm Brisbane days.

Landscaping
Austek Play brings extensive experience working alongside landscapers to deliver playground and recreation projects that are not only visually impressive but also seamlessly integrated into their surrounding environments. With a strong focus on safety and compliance, Austek ensures every installation meets the highest standards while enhancing the aesthetic and functional appeal of outdoor spaces.
Softfall
Safety was a key priority, with the playground’s surface constructed from synthetic grass and rubber. This combination provides a soft base that cushions falls, and the yellow path adds a vibrant look and feel of the play area.
