Picnic Point Reserve, The Entrance, NSW

Project Overview

Our brief was to upgrade the site from a local-level play space to a district-level destination that caters to a wide range of play experiences, including active and dynamic play, sensory and neurodiverse-friendly elements, creative and natural play areas. The design also needed to incorporate, where possible, provisions for both current and future ancillary facilities as part of the overall design.

Project Design

At the heart of this transformation is a bespoke Tower, a custom play structure that’s as eye-catching as it is action-packed. Think ninja obstacles, climbing nets, and imaginative themed elements that invite repeat play. We carefully selected materials and finishes to complement the surrounding natural landscape, with rubber and mulch softfall zones for added safety.

Inclusivity

This space welcomes users of all abilities. From sensory-rich zones to accessible paths and ramp providing challenges and fun for everyone.

Landscaping

Landscaping includes sandstone features, turfing, fencing and shade sails, every detail was considered to ensure no one misses out on the fun.

Project Outcome

This was a standout project for our team, not just for the scale and creativity involved, but for the way it frames the stunning waterfront location. The custom tower is a prominent feature that can be seen across the peninsula, and the positive community response has been incredible. Read more community feedback
